SPRING TERM

We have been looking at a range of stories this term:

We learnt the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, acted out the story and performed them to the class. 

We learnt about Owls and retold the Owl Babies story. For our writing we focused on what the owls said through the story and wrote our own speech bubbles. Below are some videos of us retelling the stories at home.

 

    

We enjoyed the story of Mr Gumpy's Outing, we made boats, explored and experimented with things that sink and float as well as looking at different ways we can ask questions. 

We loved the story of Handa's surprise. We found it funny that all the animals were taking the different fruits and Handa didn't notice. We got to try lots of different fruits including Pineapple, Passionfruit, Melon, Avacado, Oranges and Kiwi. We picked our favourite fruit to write about, focusing on describing the smell, colour and taste of the different fruits.

We have also been doing some measuring in Maths using non-metric equipment:

          

In PE we have been looking at Dance and Gymnastics - here are some pictures of us experimenting with our balance, rolling, and movement across different types of apparatus.

               

Summer Term

Squirrels ventured out around the Clinton Park estate to do a litter pick.

Exploring the area, seeing where litter gets stuck and dropped and picking it up using litter pickers kindly lent to us from Johns & Associates in Tattershall and Horncastle Town Council. The children did an amazing job in the wet rainy weather and collected 2 bin bags full.

               

In Talk for Writing we have also been using the Gruffalo to help us with our adjectives and descriptive language. We have come up with some amazing words as a class and we use them to change the story from The Gruffalo to The Spinosaurus.
