Diwali:
Class 1 have been finding out about Diwali and how it is celebrated. We have been retelling the story of Rama and Sita, making Diva lamps and Cocount Barfi and taking part in some Indian dancing.
Firework movement:
Class one enjoyed their PE session exploring different ways of moving. We looked at pictures of fireworks and thought about movements to represent Sparklers, Rockets, Fountains and Catherine Wheels.
Bird Feeders:
Class one have enjoyed using our nature area. We talked about how we could look after the birds and decided to make bird feeders. We were able to follow a set of instructions to make them.
Comparing amounts:
Class one have been comparing groups of objects and can say if a group has more, less or equal amounts. We have also been comparing size, capacity and height.
Owl Babies:
Class one have listened to the Owl Babies story. We learnt that the Owl's home had leaves, feathers and twigs in it and collected some from our nature are to make the setting for the story. We also made owl toast by spreading chocolate spread and chopping fruit.
Sorting:
Class one have been sorting by size, shape and colour. We have also been spotting the odd one out in a group of objects.
Nursery Rhymes:
Class one have been joining in with lots of nursery rhymes. We have made walls for Humpty Dumpty and put him together again. We have hunted for Incy Wincy Spider and threaded his web. We enjoyed making a friendship web as a team.
